Joliet, Illinois based law firm, Chuck Bretz & Associates, P.C., was victorious in the defense of a multi-million dollar Federal District Court commercial lawsuit. Chuck Bretz, the founder and principal of the firm, and Joseph Namikas represented a corporate client in the defense of a breach of commercial contract based on multiple complex claims initiated by a bank, which asserted that the firm’s client owed the bank certain sums by virtue of an assignment made by a co-defendant. The client denied that there was a breach of the assignment and successfully asserted that it was inappropriate for a judgment to be entered in favor of the bank.
After a weeklong trial, the jury rendered a verdict in favor of the firm's client.
